The route is built up in sections and based in different regions and habitats. This gives you the flexibility to chose your own time frame, be it a short break at just one of the farms, a longer holiday staying at two or more, or the whole round trip starting and ending at Stavanger or Haugesund. No matter what you chose, if you are a bird watcher and nature lover, then this is the trip for you.

Isn’t a holiday home like this better than some sterile hotel room?

Accommodation

The thing that makes this holiday very special is the fact that you will be staying at holiday homes that are connected with farms. Good accommodation either makes or breaks a holiday. We believe that we offer the very best of farmhouse holidays. Some of the farms are working, some are not. Two of them are run as mountain lodges. The choice is yours, but remember, your accommodation will not just be another sterile hotel room, it will have character and atmosphere and your hosts will make you more than welcome, and they will be only to willing to share their local knowledge with you.

Getting To Norway

Getting to Norway couldn’t be simpler. The main air carrier is without a doubt SAS. They fly from airports all around Europe. with connections to Stavanger and Bergen . In addition to SAS you have the “cheap fare” airlines. These companies are definitely on the increase and new routes are being added so fast, it is difficult to keep up. For those wishing to take their own vehicle, there are several ferry services between the continent, the UK and Stavanger or Bergen. This option also gives one the opportunity to start your trip at Stavanger and end in Bergen. For those considering shorter breaks at just one, or maybe two of the farms you will find relative travel information on the nearest airport or seaport under the getting to Norway page. For those coming by air, it is just a case of picking up your hire car and you are on your way.
